“I've met dozens of people this summer who have come here on vacation from California to enjoy the beauty of Lake Michigan and the city of Milwaukee. It's amazing that we can compete with the west coast and the ocean, so let's keep it that way!” - Ben Callif
“I live currently in South Milwaukee with my wife....At the age of 50 being diagnosed with depression, and recovering from alcoholism, and pain medication addiction I found myself lost, and without purpose....my doctor told me that I needed to get exercise....that it would help with both of my issues.....I never knew of Grant Park nearby our house....I wandered down there one morning and ended up staying for more than 5 hours that first day...I worked second shift at that time, so my days were free to roam and explore....I was more drawn to the shores of Lake Michigan where I would bring my camera and take sunrise pictures from the bluffs of grant park....the sunrises became my new purpose.....documenting the beautiful new day.... as I watched the seasons changed, sitting on the shores 4 or 5 times a week for several years now....photographing the countless migrating birds that the lake brings......and also now selling these images online.....I have been able to find my soul....my true identity....sitting, listening and watching the waves, the birds, and the sunrises that she has so generously offered me ....she saved my life.....showed me the beauty that was a mere mile from my own home at a time that I couldn’t see any hope in my own life...” - Todd Leech
